“To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die: Ecclesiastes 3:1-2”
Madella Parnell was born April 7, 1906 in the District of Columbia (Washington, D.C.). She embarked on her educational journey in the public schools of Washington D.C. She joined the Calvary Baptist Church, Jamaica, New York. She later joined Mission Baptist Church and remained active there until she moved to Florida. While in New York, she provided long-termed foster care for many children. She received numerous awards and recognitions for her services.
She was united in holy matrimony to LeRoy Douglas - a marriage that remained in place for more than fifty years. Brother and Sister Douglas move to Orlando, Florida in 1971.
